Tips for Taking Care of Your Products

Pillows
Here are some practical tips on how to take care of your Germain Collection bedding. These simple suggestions will allow you to keep it looking good and feeling comfortable for a long time.

100% Feather Pillows
We recommend that you cover this type of pillow with a mattress pillow cover, as it’s rather difficult to keep it in good condition. It’s not advisable to wash the pillow in a washing machine. Small stains can, however, be washed with water and soft soap. When you’re done, dry the damp area with a hairdryer at a low temperature.

Down Pillow with Feather Centre
We recommend that you cover this type of pillow with a cotton pillow cover, as it’s rather difficult to keep it in good condition. It’s not advisable to wash the pillow in a washing machine. Small stains can, however, be washed with water and soft soap. When you’re done, dry the damp area with a hairdryer at a low temperature.

Royal Plus Pillow
This pillow has two sections: a feather centre and an outer envelope of down. The feather centre should never be washed. Small stains can be washed with water and soft soap. When you’re done, dry the damp area with a hairdryer at a low temperature.

The outer envelope can be washed in a machine: use cold water, delicate cycle and soft soap (e.g., Ivory Snow). Before putting in the dryer, arrange it into its normal shape. Place it in the dryer at a low temperature along with some tennis balls, in order to prevent the stuffing from becoming compacted. It’s important to dry it thoroughly in order to avoid mould and bad odours.

Hypoallergenic Pillow
You can wash this pillow in a commercial washing machine, using warm water and soft soap (e.g., Ivory Snow). Before putting in the dryer, arrange it into its normal shape. Dry the pillow in a commercial dryer at a low temperature along with some tennis balls, in order to prevent the stuffing from becoming compacted. It’s important to dry it thoroughly.

Down Duvet
Before using:

Down duvets are pressure packed. To “reactivate” the down and feathers, give the duvet a good shake for a few seconds. The heat of your body will cause the down to regain its fluffiness. For maximum comfort, and to protect your investment, it’s vital that you put a cover over the duvet.

Taking care of your duvet:
It’s important to air the duvet periodically to keep it fresh and to preserve its insulating properties. We recommend airing the duvet outside, but make sure you protect it from the sun’s harmful rays. Small stains can be washed with water and soft soap. When you’re done, dry the damp area with a hairdryer at a low setting.

Washing:
You can wash this duvet in a commercial washing machine, using cold water and soft soap (e.g., Ivory Snow). Dry it in a commercial dryer at a low setting along with some tennis balls, in order to prevent the down from becoming compacted. You can hang the duvet from a washing line to dry, but you should finish drying it in the dryer with some tennis balls. It’s important to dry it thoroughly; otherwise, moisture may cause mould to grow, destroying the down.

Silk Duvet
Before use:

It’s important to put a cover over the duvet to protect it, because it is strongly recommended that you do not wash it.

Care and cleaning:
We recommend that you air the duvet regularly, either on a washing line or in a dryer using cold air. When necessary, have it dry cleaned.

Linen Bedding
Wash these items with a regular cycle, using warm water for white or beige linen and cold water for coloured linen. Dry it on a washing line or in a dryer, using the delicate cycle. If the fabric is still slightly damp, iron it.

To get rid of stains (wine, grease, coffee, etc.), soak the linen in soapy, lukewarm water immediately, and leave it there for several hours. Then wash it in the regular manner, as described above.

Linen is a superior fabric: the more you use it, the more its qualities are enhanced. It becomes softer and smoother, without losing any of its strength and durability.

Moka Bedding
Wash in cold water, using soft soap. Dry at a low temperature, to avoid causing the fibres to shrink. For it to look its best, we recommend ironing it.
